In a suspected case of honour killing, family members of a 23-year-old woman, who worked as a teacher at a local school, first allegedly shot her and then burnt her to death at Siraundhi Angadpur village in Bareilly . According to the police, the woman was in a relationship with a man from a different caste for the past three years.
The two were scheduled to tie the knot in August against the wishes of her family . The victim’s father reportedly fired three shots at her with his pistol on Monday . Later he, along with her brother, bundled her into a tempo and burnt her alive beside a river. While raids are on, no arrests have been made in the case as yet.
