A 17-year-old girl approached Sola police on Monday to register a complaint of rape against a man living-in with her mother. According to Sola police, the 29-year-old man was arrested and the girl sent for medical examination on Tuesday .

According to Sola police, the17-year-old girl, a resident of Chanakyapuri, mentioned in her complaint that her mother, in her late thirties, got divorced around seven years ago. She had come in contact with Sunny Shah, 29, during her work. Sunny was living with the mother and daughter for some nine months now.

“According to the girl’s complaint, Shah allegedly forced himself on her around eight months ago, when they were alone at the house. He later told her that he had captured the act and if she did not cooperate, he would not only make the photos and videos public but also harm her mother.Her sexual exploitation continued till February 19. The girl grew tired of the repeated exploitation and confided in her friend, who brought her to the police station,“ said aSola police official. D V Rana, inspector of Sola police station, said that after recording the girl’s statement, they started investigations and learned that even the girl’s mother didn’t know about this. “Shah had allegedly cut the girls communications channels and restricted her movements. On being apprehended, Shah confessed to having raped her and was arrested. Further investigation is on,“ he said.
