VHP leaders promise to back Patidars’ reservation fight
Surat: Patidars who were planning to convert their religion in Surat postponed their plans following a meeting with leaders of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), on Monday. VHP leaders assured of every possible help to Patidars, and promised to apply pressure on state government for reservation.
VHP leaders from Surat met leaders of Akhil Bhartiya Patidar Sena (ABPS) at Pasodara area on Monday morning. Citing that reservation has nothing to with religion, VHP leaders promised of raising their issue at all levels.
“We have postponed our decision to convert as VHP leaders promised to raise our issues before state government. Now VHP and Bajrang Dal will also support us in our fight for reservation. They have requested time to bring a solution to our demands,” said Raju Bodara, president of ABPS.
“We had planned to convert as we were left with no option to get benefits of reservation. Though VHP and Bajrang Dal have promised of support, option of conversion is still open for us,” Bodara added.
