Ahmedabad: The body of a 17-year-old dalit girl was found under a bridge at Madhapar cross road in Rajkot city, on September 13. The police had earlier suspected it to be a case of murder, but on Friday the case took an honour killing angle. After the body was identified by the brother of the victim Pushpa (name changed) the police arrested the victim’s paramour, acting on victim’s brother’s statement. During his interrogation, the accused argued that he wanted to marry Pushpa, who was to turn 18 and she had planned to elope with him, which was learnt by her family members.
