A Congress MLA from Bikram and the son of an RJD MLA have been booked in two separate criminal cases in Bihar.
While the Congress MLA from Bikram, Siddharth Singh, has been booked for allegedly abducting an 18-year-old girl from Masaurhi on Thursday, a case has been lodged against Atri RJD legislator Kunti Devi’s son for allegedly assaulting a doctor on Wednesday night.
Masaurhi police said the case against the Bikram MLA was lodged on the basis of a local resident’s complaint. According to the complaint, the MLA arrived near the complainant’s house and abducted his daughter as soon she stepped out of the house.
Police said the Bikram legislator, son of renowned child specialist Utpal Kant, had earlier abducted the girl in 2014. The girl was brought back by Jehanabad Police after 23 days.
But the police said it could be a case of “love affair” too. The legislator is married and has a child.
Bihar Congress spokesperson H K Verma said, “The police should investigate the case and take appropriate action. The law is applicable to one and all. A crime is a crime.”
